Our Mission is commissioned by GOD! According to the scripture, we are to go into the world and teach nations. We are to baptize them as an act of submission to Christ. Therefore, we endeavor to teach believers how to live victorious lives through the power of God's word and train them to become effective disciples that will impact our communities and our world
In the year 1990, Victory Worship Center, Church of God in Christ Incorporated, was conceived in the spirit of Bishop Keith G. Nation while serving a military assignment in the Republic of Panama. Already given a great charge to pastor his first church in Panama, the Lord was impressing upon Pastor Nation's heart to give birth to a different type of ministry. This ministry would later be realized in the state of Georgia through the vehicle of the Uniter States Army.
The name "Victory Worship Center" was revealed to Bishop Nation from the Lord and adopted from 1st Corinthians 15:57, "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ". These inspiring words provided insight into God's divine purpose for the church. A ministry focus of teaching, training and sending out victorious believers to bring in the harvest.
In December 1997, Bishop Nation received affirmation through a word of wisdom to birth the ministry that God had called him to establish. Seven months later, on July 16, 1998, Victory Worship Center began as a weekly bible study in the home of Bishop and Lady Nation with four faithful families.
On August 2, 1998, the doors were opened at the Days Inn and Suites located in Stockbridge, Georgia. Victory Worship Center commenced with Sunday worship services as a church. The presence of the Lord was in the midst as family and friends worshipped giving God the GLORY! Pastor Nation commemorated that Sunday with a sermon entitled, "A Step of Faith" depicting its humble beginnings and assuredness that God is with us.
Within two months, Victory Worship Center experienced the growth of two more families; increasing the fold to a membership of twenty. Having a heart's desire for a Children's Ministry, Pastor Nation began to pray seeking God's direction for a facility to encompass the total ministry needs. Shortly thereafter, his prayers were answered.
The opportunity to establish a Children's Ministry was presented when the church relocated to 4231 North Henry Boulevard in Stockbridge Georgia on December 6, 1998. This was the first step in laying the foundation for an effective Youth Ministry.
November 1, 1999, the Lord opened yet another door for ministry relocation to 6043 Suite F North Henry Boulevard in Stockbridge Georgia. Moving here to our present location led to the establishment of an Outreach Ministry to married couples inclusive of family and crisis counseling.
November 30, 2004 commemorated a day of victory as VWC purchased approximately 12 acres of land. August 10, 2006 marked yet another victory as the Henry County Board of Commissioners granted us the approval to begin the building project process.
The vision is not elusive nor are the goals unattainable. We are confident that what has been ordained by God's divine providence shall come to fruition. Therefore, we remain poised to witness the next phase of God's unvailing plans. We are content to continue to develop lives spiritually, and to grow the church numerically as we wait upon the Lord who is our source!
